ECOLITY is an international conference to empower youth leaders to create and share ideas. Unlike other conventional events, it focuses on engaging youth leaders to contribute to the global issue. Back to the Policy Address in 1999, the Hong Kong Government made it clear about our endeavors to building and realizing a recycling society and seeking establishment of a sustainable society which is a major requirement for the 21st century. As a matter of fact that more and more people are now concerning about the environment in Hong Kong, the theme of this summit will be Carbon Reduction.

ECO is a prefix usually for environmental issues. Local is echoing with one of the objectives– Local community influence. Innovation is also what we look for, together with Take Action by Youth. With the name, ECOLITY, we hope to gather all passionate youth to work on the environment by generating innovative resolutions to impact our communities and to “Give Our Home An ECO Chance”.

Exchange is the most intense learning experience that we offer and links together our global network. Each year, we provide over 5,500 members the challenging opportunity to live and work in a foreign country in areas of management, information technology, education, and development.

Types of Exchanges:

• Management Internship (MT) – internships related to administration, finance, accounting, marketing, project management and HR.
• Development Internship (DT) – usually with NGOs, internships usually relate to wide variety of issues in community development.
• Technical Internship (TT) – internships related to management and development in web, software, networks, and databases, plus some engineering.
• Education Internship (ET) – internships related to promotion, curriculum development, teaching, and counseling in education sector.

Steps to the process:

• Selection and Application – after joining and understanding AIESEC you can enter a review process to assess your experiences and motivation for doing an AIESEC exchange. 
  
• Preparation – AIESEC provides resources, trainings and support to prepare you to live and work in another country. This includes visa processing. 
  
• Matching - You will be trained and given access to use our on-line database of jobs. The more flexible you are the better. 
  
• Integration – AIESEC members in your host chapter provide support and assistance in getting setup while providing opportunities for cultural and social activities. 
  
• Re-Integration – AIESEC supports you in making the readjustment process when you return home.

• Duration: 6 weeks to 18 months
• Salary covers living costs except development internships
• Matching takes 2-6 months
• Airfare not included
• DT fund application will be out after you successfully become an exchange participant
